Welcome to our web site - we hope that you find it useful. Our home page is designed to help all those thinking of having a luxury swimming pool installed in France or who would like their old one renovated

How are you going to ensure that your installer will do a good job for you in France?

Projects involving swimming pool installation in France often go badly wrong. If you are dissatisfied with your the finished product and have to resort to court action to get faults put right you may have to leave the half finished facility as it is until the matter comes up before the local tribunal.

This procedure can take years and throughout that period you will have a facility that you have paid for that does not work.

THE ISSUES

So how can you make sure that:

• The main structure will be durable

• The structure will not be affected by the poor ground conditions that often occur here in SW France

• The structure will not be damaged by a high ground water table that could cause complete failure when the pool is drained down

• The surrounding paving does not crack or subside

• The top of the walls and the adjacent paving / decking around the facility is at the right level to optimise the integration of the pool and the living areas of your property

• The facility will comply with the DDASS requirements if it is to be used by more than one family

• The installer does not damage your existing drains and services and those owned by others - it is surprising how many rural properties in France have gardens that are full of buried pipes and cables

• The installation does not stop you from complying with the new laws on domestic drainage that are going to bite increasingly hard on property owners here in the near future

• It does not leak - water is very expensive in France - and did you know that a pin sized leak in the pressure piping can leak enough water in a year to refill it many times over - and at the same time undermine both your and your neighbours house foundations!!

One of the most important considerations is pool shape. The basic choice invariably lies between a rectangular or a kidney shaped type. ( two linked circles).

Rectangular pools like ours tend to cost about 10,000 euros more than circular ones. This is basically because circular facilities rely on tension in the pool wall to hold the water pressure - whereas rectangular ones rely on the ground below and on the sides of the pool for support. This results in a more costly structure. However, although more costly, a rectangular pool will enhance the value of your property whereas a kidney shape one may well have the opposite effect because most people prefer the classic shape and lines of a rectangular swimming pool surrounded by high quality paving. By the way, kits for rectangular pools are a very risky proposition because they rely on the ground for support, but are not bespoke designed for every different site as they should be!
